Your employer deducts the tax from salary every month. Above the threshold the yearly tax is ₹2,500, collected as ₹200 a month and ₹300 in February.

Women pay nothing on a monthly salary up to ₹25,000, against ₹7,500 for men; above that the same ₹200 / ₹300 pattern applies.

Employers register for PTRC (the employer registration certificate); individuals who pay their own tax use PTEC. Since 1 April 2023 an employer whose liability for the previous year was ₹1 lakh or more files a monthly return by the last day of the month, and other employers file one annual return by 31 March. Confirm current due dates on the Maharashtra GST Department site.
