SIP Calculator

A SIP calculator estimates what your monthly mutual fund investment grows to.

It uses FV = P × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i), where i is the monthly return and n the number of months. Add an annual step-up to model rising contributions.

How to use the SIP Calculator

  1. Enter your monthly SIP amount.
  2. Enter the expected annual return (equity funds have historically averaged 10–12% over long periods, but returns are not guaranteed).
  3. Choose the investment period in years.
  4. Optionally add an annual step-up %.

Frequently asked questions

How is SIP return calculated?

Each monthly instalment compounds for the remaining months. The calculator assumes investment at the start of every month and a constant annual return converted to a monthly rate (annual ÷ 12).

What is a step-up SIP?

A step-up (top-up) SIP increases your instalment by a fixed percentage every year, e.g. 10%, usually in line with salary hikes. It can dramatically increase the final corpus.

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. Mutual fund returns depend on market performance. Use the calculator for planning with conservative return assumptions.
