Frequently asked questions

How much of NPS must go into an annuity?

Under PFRDA's exit regulations as amended in December 2025, non-government subscribers exiting at 60 can withdraw up to 80% and must annuitise at least 20% when the corpus exceeds ₹12 lakh; smaller corpuses have more flexible options. Government-sector subscribers annuitise at least 40%.

Is the annuity rate guaranteed?

The annuity rate is fixed when you buy the annuity from an insurer at exit, but today's quotes may differ from rates 20–30 years from now.
